The Way 04:08
I was walking in You were walking out Saw that little grin, the one they told me about Now, I know that love should never be so easy but there’s something in the way you move Something about the way you move it haunts me, it haunts me Something about the way you move it haunts me, it haunts me Just give me a chance If you have the time Hope to get a single dance think I could change your mind Now, they say, “love at first sight’s not a real thing” but there’s just something in the way you move Something about the way you move it haunts me, it haunts me Something about the way you move it haunts me, it haunts me Somethin’ bout the way you move Somethin’ bout the way you move Somethin’ bout the way you move Somethin’ bout the way you move Something about the way you move it haunts me, it haunts me Something about the way you move it haunts me, it haunts me

You and You 05:22
In time, maybe I can find a life alive in open doors, engrossed in chords, the known is more misleading. I've grown with the unknown in me the tale is quick to tell itself given the chance your health is in my hands you've put my words on a pedestal You wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you you wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you you wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you you wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you 'Cause now it seems you place your dreams of we in the palm of my hands. Time and its sands, they pass on hours second-hand I don't know how to find your heart when I've lost mine, you can't build houses on a flimsy rock Given the chance drop all the song and dance I can't exist on your pedestal You wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you you wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you When I hear talk of gold, talk of riches talk of woes, and the inevitable, holding tight to our souls, like an ever-present mold, we survive, latching onto hearts. Comfort unfolds like a silent sniper's cold, unflinching stare down the hole Like the watchers of the world from afar, we unload all our problems on our partners' hearts Like papers we unfold telling tales, young and old all the riches and the golden wreaths we lay upon our dead when their minds leave their heads a solo journey is another way You wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you you wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you you wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you you wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you you wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you you wanna get closer to me but you need a remedy for all of the drama between you and you

Another Love 06:33
Don’t get undone, don’t cry When evening comes, don’t fight I’ve buckled to the disillusion once too many The data comes and grows under a weight unknown Our waking life is governed the silence I try to decode the math of you, I do Every night I dream of another love Like the warping time dreams cast on all of us Laid out, all I want to know’s the truth And ‘cause of you, I can dream higher Last night I dreamed of another love took me by the hand, shot past the walls of my heart, crash landing in a flame Now it’s all the same I can dream higher higher, higher, higher, higher higher, higher, higher, higher higher, higher, higher, higher higher, higher, higher, higher The weight of time pulls you when you inquire, lulls you into a sense of safeness when the braveness calls I’ve learned by now to fear comfort that’s found round here It’s like a cavity, the gravity I fall I try to decode the math of you, I do Every night I dream of another love Like the warping time dreams cast on all of us Laid out, all I want to know’s the truth And ‘cause of you, I can dream higher Last night I dreamed of another love took me by the hand, shot past the walls of my heart, crash landing in a flame Now it’s all the same I can dream higher Who knew I’d find you here Cradle or crash? Unclear How can our minds be intertwined so readily? Maybe the point of this is just this brand of bliss to know that two can exist as two and still be fine We’ve grown all that we’ll grow Now we need some space Every night I dream of another love Like the warping time dreams cast on all of us Laid out, all I want to know’s the truth And ‘cause of you, I can dream higher Last night I dreamed of another love took me by the hand, shot past the walls of my heart, crash landing in a flame Now it’s all the same I can dream higher higher, higher, higher, higher higher, higher, higher, higher higher, higher, higher, higher higher, higher, higher I can dream higher

I was led to believe that I possessed a specialness a special this, a special that But instead I was made to live without togetherness that special bliss was never mine to feel I was told that in time I’d see the fruits of patience see the fruits of patience behold the fruits of patience You told me my eyes shine bright You told me my eyes shine bright I think it’s about time this jilted heart were spared The inscrutability of your eyes made me hypothesize that you cared You’re warm like summer sun on Mars Cold like a pain, sweet, so bizarre You told me my eyes shine bright, told me my eyes shine bright Bright, bright Invisible like the atmosphere Spatial, maple, so unclear told me my eyes shine bright, now I can’t sleep Without your love (love love love, love, love love love) Without your love (love love love, love, love love love) Without your love (love love love, love, love love love) Without your love (love love love, love, love) Love, love, love Enter you, with your gaze so warm and so inviting Delighting in hiding Behind those eyes, poison and sweetness coincide Unreadable then, unreadable now Then there’s me, eyes wide with a mind preoccupied, a mind you got inside a mind you got inside when you told me my eyes shine bright I thought that you meant it that night I think it’s about time this jilted heart were spared The inscrutability of your eyes made me hypothesize that you cared You’re warm like summer sun on Mars Cold like a pain, sweet, so bizarre You told me my eyes shine bright, told me my eyes shine bright Bright, bright Invisible like the atmosphere Spatial, maple, so unclear told me my eyes shine bright, now I can’t sleep Without your love (love love love, love, love love love) Without your love (love love love, love, love love love) Without your love (love love love, love, love love love) Without your love (love love love, love, love) Love, love, love Love, love, love Love, love, love Love, love You’re warm like summer sun on Mars Cold like a pain, sweet, so bizarre You told me my eyes shine bright, told me my eyes shine bright Bright, bright Invisible like the atmosphere Spatial, maple, so unclear told me my eyes shine bright, now I can’t sleep at night Without your love (love love love, love, love love love) Without your love (love love love, love, love love love) Without your love (love love love, love, love love love, love love) Without your love (love love love) love, love Unreadable then, unreadable now I don’t know when you set it all down Unreadable then, unreadable now I don’t know when you set my heart down

Came out of the unknown and out of the dark you shone, and lent me a piece of your soul you gave me your silver and gold we found riches untold everyday the journey unfolded but climbing mountains of gold we both fell without a foothold holding you from afar is an eyeball viewing a star, it's best seen from the side I just can't forget your mind so while your life unfolds I'll be here just tryna let go I'm left with everything old nothing new, just silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold so while your life unfolds I’ll be here just tryna let go I’m left with everything old Nothing new, just silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver and gold silver, silver silver and gold silver and gold

Robot Man 04:28
There was a man who fell in love Oh, but it was a forbidden love The force it carried in his lonely heart and even though he said it would be fine He knew that in time, it would only rot only rot, rot rot at his heart rot at his heart He can’t find the truth in hindsight let alone foresight, robot man He sees the toll emotions take and then decides to throw them down He chose to be a robot man Unshackled by the ramblings of emotion He chose to be a robot man Traded his broken heart for simpler notions And on his robotic journey he found a robot burning in sound an overthinking, overanalyzing He can go for hours and hours when ours and theirs become he and his and solitude rots, rots at his mind rots at his mind He can’t find the truth in hindsight Let alone foresight, robot man He sees the toll emotions take and then decides to throw them down He chose to be a robot man Unshackled by the ramblings of emotion He chose to be a robot man Traded his broken heart for simpler notions He chose to be a robot man (they’d bubble up, he’d throw them down) Unshackled by the ramblings of emotion He chose to be a robot man Traded his broken heart for simpler notions He chose to be a robot man (they’d bubble up, he’d throw them down) Unshackled by the ramblings of emotion He chose to be a robot man Traded his broken heart for simpler notions

20/20 06:06
Something inside my head is Ticking like a clock Tearing me apart Telling me what’s right is wrong Something inside me says I should know better I should show better I should talk to you I shoulda, coulda, woulda shoulda, woulda shoulda, coulda, woulda, coulda, woulda Hindsight is 20/20, oh But mind sight is worth more than gold Hindsight is 20/20, oh But mind sight is worth more than gold Inside my mind there’s a letter it says “Do better next time.” Even still, something inside me refuses to let me live unchained So I live the same But as the letter fades Erasing your love Like a dying dove I know now where I went wrong Something inside me says I should know better Should show better I should talk to you I shoulda, coulda, woulda shoulda, woulda shoulda, coulda, woulda, coulda, woulda Hindsight is 20/20, oh But mind sight is worth more than gold Hindsight is 20/20, oh But mind sight is worth more than gold Hindsight is 20/20, oh But mind sight is worth more than gold Hindsight is 20/20, oh But mind sight is worth more than gold more than gold more than gold more than gold more more than gold more than gold (woo) more than gold more than gold more more than, more than, more than… When I hear talk of gold Talk of riches, talk of woes And the inevitable Holding tight to our souls Like an ever-present mold We survive, latching onto hearts Comfort unfolds Like a sniper’s cold, unflinching Stare down the hole Like the watchers of the world From afar, we unload All of our problems on our partners’ hearts Like papers we unfold Telling tales, young and old All the riches and the golden wreaths We lay upon our dead When their minds leave their heads A solo journey is another way

Bones 03:46
Don’t sweat the cold rock Find your candles on the block golden candles on the ground, abound, around living creatures standing tall They all want to know you They all want to know your form They all want your love Through mounds of bones and undertones Skin capsules hold the wandering Then when oceans bend to let light in They peer back in, all pondering And don’t fret the cool breeze Find your candles on the leaves and golden footprints on the ground are found around other creatures all the same They all want to hold you They all want to know your bones They all want your love Through mounds of bones and undertones They coexist in wandering But when empires end, they all begin to fall, devoid of pondering Through mounds of bones and undertones Skin capsules hold the wandering Then when oceans bend to let light in They peer back in, all pondering Give me the right reason to forgive all the things that you do to you Give me the right reason to forgive all the things that you do to you Give me the right reason to forgive all the things that you do to you

Will I complete the mystery of my flesh? I will rise after a thousand years And I will bleed with sober ease after death And my eyes crafting a thousand tears There are those who lay words in the grass when I ask my name Certain souls, certain eyes Telling truths, telling lies and my own anonymity prevents me from knowing my name What’s my name? Tell me, what’s my name? What’s my name? Tell me, what’s my name? Someday I’ll stand on solid land, looking out Open eyes holding an honest world But right now I stand so solemn and full of doubt broken arms molding to any word. There are those throwing words in the sky claiming “we” as a remedy, locking arms, free of shame Both the nameless and named reaching out for identity while I’m still just learning my name What’s my name? Tell me, what’s my name? What’s my name? Tell me, what’s my name? I will wade out ‘til my thighs are steeped in burning flowers I will take the sun into my mouth and leap into the ripe air alive I will wade out ‘til my thighs are steeped in burning flowers I will take the sun into my mouth and leap into the ripe air alive I will wade out ‘til my thighs are steeped in burning flowers I will take the sun into my mouth and leap into the ripe air alive What’s my name? I will wade out ‘til my thighs are steeped in burning flowers I will take the sun into my mouth and leap into the ripe air alive I will wade out ‘til my thighs are steeped in burning flowers I will take the sun into my mouth and leap into the ripe air alive

Time, on it goes Lose your innocence Ride with the flow show your difference ‘Cause life can be so filled with confusion You’ll find strength in those who love you Hold on To love Hold on Where darkness can be found Love is your solid ground when you don’t understand Hold on with loving hands

about

Michael Mayo New York, New York

Michael Mayo approaches his voice as a musical instrument, but in often unexpected ways — with Brian Wilson-style pop harmonies, Stevie Wonder R&B, drum and bass, inspired by a line from poets, and even hip-hop. Even with his classical training, Mayo’s music is a seamless blend of alternative and neo-soul elements, a unique combination that defies genre. ... more
